As a child, I would be so excited to travel to California and spend time with my cousin Annette who loved to sing and dress up with me. I had an older sister, but she was a tom boy. Spending time with Annette was such a gift to me, and she knows now just how much it meant to me. I loved her dearly. So many memories, but the one that stands out, is how she protected me from her brothers. They teased, boy did they tease. She developed a beauty inside and out. I was lucky to have been in her life.
